Earn Your High School Diploma

High School Diploma / High School Equivalency (HSD/HSE):

Instruction in all subject areas needed to acquire a High School Diploma (HSD) or a High School Equivalency (HSE) Certificate (by taking the GED or HiSET exams). Some adult education providers offer the GED preparation and testing in English and Spanish. Some providers offer testing services, as well as test preparation. Many programs also offer supplemental technology-based instruction.

Adult Basic Education / Adult Secondary Education (ABE/ASE):

Instruction to improve basic academic skills, primarily reading, writing, and math skills. Adult Basic Education (ABE) is for adults at 8th-grade or lower reading or math skill levels; Adult Secondary Education (ASE) is for adults between 9th-12th grade reading or math skill levels. ASE instruction is often combined with High School Equivalency classes, and may often include science, social studies, and other subjects, in addition to English and math.
